This series is a callback to the classic Jim Starlin story, A Death in the Family – also drawn by Jim Aparo in Batman #426-#429 in the summer/autumn of 1988. It was collected into a best-selling graphic novel and adapted as an animated feature on 2020. Pages from that groundbreaking series are blue-chip comic art pages from the Copper Age, making this spectacular page (with the titular hero in every panel) a steal.
