CARDCAPTOR SAKURA by Sakura Kinomoto – anime cel with douga

The most important “Magical Girl” anime series of the 1990s, Cardcaptor Sakura (カードキャプターさくら) was created by the manga group Clamp and adapted into a 70-episode anime TV series by Madhouse. It was eventually licensed and ran on American television creating a deckmaster craze comparable to Pokemon. The Cardcaptor Sakura anime from which this cel comes won the Animage Grand Prix award for best anime in 1999. Lead character design by Kumiko Takahashi (of Ninja Scroll & Full Metal Alchemist fame). This is a close-up profile of the lead character, Sakura Kinomoto.
