SANDMAN PIETA (DEATH & DREAM): by Patmai

This illustration by Patricia Patmai de Vera was a mystery sketch showcased on Comic Art Live from a commission request for “The Pieta —with Death of the Endless as the Virgin Mary“.

The night before the virtual convention began, Bill Cox hosted a Mystery Sketch Preview Show / Round Table with NextComicArt’s Jiggy and a few of the artists on his roster. Not long into the show viewers could see this piece being worked on while several artists on the show were both speaking and drawing. When host Bill Cox gave a full screen to Patmai as she worked on this drawing, the whole panel fell silent and just watched her work. That episode can be viewed HERE (at the 22 minute mark).
