Description

The Tomb of Dracula Magazine was a more adult, B&W collection of Dracula stories published by Marvel, and as such allowed Gene Colan to utilize more experimentally dynamic panel layout and preserving his ink wash technique from heavy-handed inkers in a color, newsprint, comic book format. It was much sexier, often featured nudity, and had a shorter publishing life making available pages exceptionally rare.

This particular story features the return of Lilith (Dracula’s daughter) to modern continuity. This is the final page of the story and contains all the elements that make this an iconic Colan T.o.D. page: fangs, vapor, and a wooden spike about to be driven into the titular vampire’s torso by a sexy, female protagonist–in this case, his daughter Lilith. Colan passed away in 2011.
