Joker pin-up by Chris Conidis

Chris Conidis is a Canadian artist residing in Florida. He started out with an interest in animation fundamentals that evolved into figure drawing and ultimately the art of high contrast –mostly incorporating imagery from fantasy art and oldschool horror movies. Chris has been hitting the comic circuit, resulting in affordable commissions and pin-ups like the Joker seen here. If I were to limit my description to just two words, they would be “pure menace.”

His signature style showcases the influence of the Warren publications era that gave us Creepy, Eerie, and Vampirella, and the instantly identifiable work of Frank Frazetta, Al Williamson, and Bernie Wrightson. I highly endorse Chris’ self-published collection of art and stories called Monsters & Madonnas.

While Conidis is know to use multi-media to produce work, this piece is hand-drawn in graphite and ink.
