Description

The delightful wickedness of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser waits for its victims in more than mere puzzle boxes. It waits in the mystery of crystal lifeforms lightyears away. It waits in seductive whispers of evil at a Parisian artists’ colony. It waits in the notes a musical genius plays on the way to madness. Inside these pages, Hell waits for you – and it can afford to be patient. It has eternity on its side.

Dave Dorman (born 1958 in Michigan) is a science fiction, horror and fantasy illustrator best known for his Aliens and Star Wars artwork. He won an Eisner Award in 1993 and an Inkpot Award in 2010. He has also illustrated Harry Potter and Magic the Gathering deck master cards.

This oversize, painted, two-panel page from “Songs of Metal and Flesh,” (Dorman’s only Hellraiser comic) features a couple of cenobites in the bottom panel. Includes two vellum overlays with Dorman’s lettering and design elements. Dorman’s assistant was the Canadian artist, Lurene Haines, who passed away in 2015. The story was penned by longtime Clive Barker associate and Hellbound: Hellraiser II screenwriter, Peter Atkins.
