Description

Written by Paul Jenkins with pencils by Michael Zulli, Witchblade #47 centers around an affluent and influential family-two children, two suicides. As a distraught mother and father try to contain their grief, Sara Pezzini listens to the voices of the Witchblade in order to uncover the truth. And what she finds will shock even the most hardened NYPD detective. Hidden somewhere in the muttering sounds of the ancient blade are the voices of two children who have been crying out to be heard for many years. It’s a cry that’s gone unnoticed, both in life and in death- until now.

Michael Zulli is one of the truly great comic pencillers, best know for his own Puma Blues and for several gigs at DC’s Vertigo line, including Neil Gaiman‘s Sandman –for which he was nominated for three Eisner Awards.

This part of the run of Top Cow’s long-running Witchblade series (created by Mark Silvestri), utilized an anthology format, allowing guest penciler Michael Zulli to provide an uncharacteristic Gothic look that exhibits a very nightmarish Vertigo feel.
